Welcome to Beoflow. This Cookie Policy explains how Beoflow B.V. ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website beoflow.com and the Beoflow web application. On pages that use non-essential cookies, you will be asked for your consent via our cookie consent banner before any of them are set.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to provide information to the owners of the site.
This policy also covers similar technologies — in particular localStorage, which stores information in your browser in the same way a cookie does but is not sent to a server with every request. Where we use it, we say so.
How We Use Cookies
Beoflow uses cookies for the following purposes:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions made by you, such as logging in, setting your privacy preferences, filling in forms, or signing up for our free coach course.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These are strictly necessary for the operation of the website and for delivering a service you have asked for.
Analytics
We measure how our pages are used with PostHog, which we host ourselves on our own infrastructure at posthog.beoflow.com. This data is not shared with any advertising network and does not leave our systems.
Our analytics set no cookies at all. They store a single value in your browser:

We deliberately limit what this collects:
- No session recording. We do not record or replay your screen.
- No automatic click tracking. Only a small, fixed set of events is recorded — a page view, a course signup, a course completion, and opening our demo booking link.
- No personal data in analytics events. Your name, email address, and phone number are never sent to our analytics.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). This is first-party measurement of our own website, carried out without cookies and without profiling you.
Google Analytics (optional, consent required). We also use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure how our pages are used. Unlike PostHog above, this is a third-party service.
Google Analytics is loaded on every page, but it is configured so that no cookie is set and no identifier is stored until you consent. Until then it runs in a cookieless mode that stores nothing on your device and sends only aggregated measurement signals that cannot identify you. This lets us count visits without following anyone.
If you choose Accept all, Google Analytics may set the following cookies:

Google does not receive your name, email address, or any other information that identifies you. Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off, so this data is not used for advertising, is not joined to your Google account, and is not shared with advertising networks. Google acts as our processor, and data may be processed outside the EEA as described under Data Transfers.
Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) for the cookies and identifiers, and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for the cookieless measurement described above.
Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to track visitors across websites and to display advertisements that are relevant and engaging. They are only placed with your explicit consent.

Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). These cookies are only set after you have given explicit consent via our cookie banner.
Your Choices and Consent
On any page that uses non-essential cookies, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the page before those cookies are set. You have three options, and each one does something different:
- Accept all — Enables everything, including marketing cookies.
- Accept required — Only the cookies the site needs in order to work. No marketing or Google Analytics cookies are placed.
- Reject — Declines optional cookies. In practice this has the same effect as Accept required: no marketing or Google Analytics cookies are placed, and only the cookies the site needs in order to work are used.
The banner controls all optional cookies — the Meta marketing cookies and the Google Analytics cookies described above. Accept all grants both; Accept required and Reject grant neither, so no marketing or Google Analytics cookie is placed and you are not tracked across sites.
With either of those two choices, PostHog and the cookieless part of Google Analytics continue to measure the site in aggregate. Neither stores anything on your device, and neither can identify you.
On our support and athletes pages a Manage option is also available, which lets you set the same choices by category.
Your choice is remembered across the whole site: if you answer the banner on one page, you will not be asked again on another, and marketing cookies will be withheld everywhere until you change your mind.
Pages that place no non-essential cookies — such as this policy, our terms, and our blog — do not display a banner. Google Analytics still runs there in the cookieless mode described above, which stores nothing on your device; it switches to cookies everywhere, including on those pages, only if you press Accept all.
Changing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of our homepage, course, webinar, support and athlete pages. This re-opens the consent banner so you can update your choices. Whichever page you answer on, the choice applies across the whole site.
If you withdraw consent, no further marketing cookies will be set and the advertising pixel will not be loaded on any page you visit afterwards. Cookies already stored on your device are not deleted by this action — use your browser settings, described below, to remove them.
Browser Settings
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Please note that blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
Third-Party Cookies
We use two third-party trackers. Meta Pixel (Facebook) is used for marketing: when you consent to marketing cookies, Meta may place cookies on your device to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and to deliver personalised content. Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) is used for measurement, as described above, and sets cookies only after you press Accept all. Each provider processes this data under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
Our own analytics (PostHog) are self-hosted and first-party, as described above. Our course delivery and contact forms use service providers that process data on our instructions and do not set cookies in your browser.
Data Transfers
Some third-party cookie providers, including Meta and Google, may transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are in place to protect your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
